About Woodford Forest Shul

About Us

Woodford Forest United Synagogue is an inclusive, modern orthodox community, founded on traditional Jewish values and beliefs.

We enrich our members’ Jewish identity through worship, education and communal involvement. Everyone, irrespective of level of observance, is welcome to take part in the various opportunities offered within the community. The synagogue’s facilities are a safe space for our members of all ages to worship, learn and socialise.

Our services are traditional and uplifting, with children encouraged to take part. There is a strong focus on community and education with a large range of activities for all ages. Social and educational events, many of which are centred around the Jewish festivals, bring individuals and families of all ages together. Regular educational events are led by our Rabbi and Rebbetzen for all levels of understanding.

As a Zionist community, we strongly support the State of Israel and we celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut and Yom Yerushalayim along with the wider community.

Our ‘Community Cares’ team aim to care for elderly or infirmed member’s needs through regular phone calls and visits.

Our new 'Helping Hands' team, started since near the beginning of coronavirus, aim to help people with any of the physical needs they may have like shopping, pick up medications etc.

Our goal is for every member to be able to find opportunities to develop their Jewish identity within the services and programmes that we provide.
